Valley Cottage (Lower Lumb Mill) 42 kW

The penstock at Valley Cottage is hidden beneath a refurbished goit and millpond. The electrical system has been designed to allow for the retrofitting of a local, private wire distribution network to supply neighbouring premises. Detailed electrical drawings and metering protocols have been devised for this purpose.

Originally installed in 1982 as a switch-over system, this hydropower system was given a complete overhaul and is now grid-connected and powering the farm at Derwydd.
